Bought a C5 Yesterday!

Postby Longhorn » Mon Apr 03, 2006 1:30 pm

Hi,
I bought the car from a Dodge dealership in Dallas Texas. It has many mods. The dealership did not know all the mods that were done under the hood, but I can see a Vortec Rammer and headers. It feels like I have a cam by the way it idles. It has a Corsa exhaust system and sounds pretty wicked. I'm trying to find the original owner and get some more information on the car.

Here's a few pics that I shot this morning. I need to go through the car thorougly as far as fluids and other maintenandce items go. Then onto some detailing. The wheels need TLC. I'll take them off and polish them when time permits.

Larry

Whoops, I should have posted this in the C5 pics section. My bad. I tried to edit it and create a new post over there, but can not edit. :?:

As far as C5s go, that one looks pretty good mate, i dont normally like them at all. The wheels and aftermarket discs do alot for it, they really make it look good. It looks like its in bloody good condition mate :o

Hi Longhorn -

Nice looking car -

I think I saw your post on Cf too -

for your 505As - here is my advice -

Wipe the tar off of them with wd-40 and a soft cotton rag - you will want to do this before each polishing session - and you will want to polish them regularly.

I like to use Mothers Billet Polish - it seems to do the best job for the least effort.

Just plan on spending some time with them, because they will get "hazy" after a few months of neglect.

I just put our 505A's on the wifes coupe - I think they look even better on her car than they did on my Z - I'll have to get a few pics when the rain breaks around the cornfield.

best regards -

Thanks for the advice.

I just polished them today. Took them off, clean the wheel wells and polished the inside and outside of the wheels.

...Looks GREAT Longhorn, and as per what Mqqn said about Mothers Billet Polish; I haven't used it yet myself, but hear good things about it! Will try some when I finally use up the Meguires version. :o
