Guess what I bought today?? (C3)

Postby australi » Sat Oct 21, 2006 12:00 am

Poor quality pics due to low light and my sh*t digital camera, but you'll get an idea at least until I can take better ones. PS; Car is filthy dirty right now so please forgive that too...

Now I have TWO of the damned things (corvettes) in my garage! ;-) (Still, I'm not complaining!!!)
:-x

***OK, have now deleted all but the one 'got it home' shot below***

HERE are the ones I took saturday. Note the car is FILTHY (it truly is covered in dust, as you can see on some of the panels shot with flash as well as dash) & the alloy and stainless steel needs a good going over, BUT here are (finally) some better shots for you guys'n'Gals:

:-x :D Yeah I'm pretty...no...make that VERY wrapped!!! :o

And remember; it’s unique globally too - this really IS a ONE-OFF!

'Outlaw' built himself one damned fine car - sparing NO expense.

:o Well done Australi, I'm glad I left it for you. At least you won't have to replace the carpet in this one. Come to think of it, you will be even more distracted and may never finish that weekend project.

Excellent pick-up mate :-)

Thanks all! :D

'Stingraynut' & 'Panther'; it desperately needs a wash before I even think of polishing...And 'LRC89'; Not half as glad as I am that you didn't take my advice and buy her when she was for sale!

Incidentally LRC89; I had the pleasure of seeing your ex '89 in person again last weekend; she is kept in IMMACULATE condition by the new owner (whom you know or know of at least), so hope that makes you feel better - she's a lovely car!

PS; now hurry up, move your arse and get another 'Vette!

The 'snow dragon' MAY be for sale in the future...It'll be heart breaking if I do though.

...Was the secret worth waiting for then? :-x

If you're serious about the 'snow dragon' lets talk away from here; but it'll ONLY be sold WHEN I complete my tidy up and refurbishment with the new carpets etc etc. It has to be to MY standards before I could even think of parting with her.

Thanks Winnie-Red for the compliments on my '85; a lot of blood, sweat and tears (and even MORE swearing) to get her to where she is now, but am STILL improving it as you all know.

I'd have to say it is definitely much better to drive than my Hiace.

Mate; I can't accurately tell you, even though it has been mentioned to me several times by 'outlaw' over the years...Originally he painted it silver at home (and the place smelt of paint for about a year!), but later he had a pro redo the whole thing in 2-pac; I think it's so many coats of base silver, followed by the ghost flames, some black and then the main violet like colour is a one off mix that he and his painter made up, and of course 4 or 5 clear coats on top...Am pretty sure he said about 15 coats all up and about 15 grand.

Whilst not a ‘chameleon’ paint job, the colour varies GREATLY depending on the angle that you look at it from and ambient light; i.e., at night it looks pure black and if there’s a street light nearby, then you may catch a glimpse of some of the ghost flames.

If 'outlaws' not around, 'Stingray' might remember more accurately until I can re-check with 'outlaw'...I'll go direct 'stingray' to this page for his input...

The colour is something he made himself.

Its a mixture of Violet and candy's from what I remember. Not sure on what else.

It does have a silver and black base for the ghost flames.
