Newsflash: Corvettes recalled for steering column issue

Postby rhianna » Tue May 04, 2010 6:13 am

This is happening in the United States but you might be interested in the issue:
NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- General Motors is recalling about 40,000 Chevrolet Corvette sports cars because of a problem in which repeatedly adjusting the position of the steering column can cause the cars' electronic stability control activate when it shouldn't.

I enjoy looking at a news portal called NewsNow: The UK's #1 News Portal because it's a good, independent source of current events from around the world.

The funny thing was I just went to that news portal and a story about a Corvette recall was the latest item at the time. Even though it was about Corvettes in the United States, I thought this forum might be interested in the problem. I'm glad the article is of interest.

Yes we have SOME latest model Corvettes here - not sure HOW they'd go to get the recall fix done tho! LONG way from a GM dealer!!

Wont be an issue, they are all converted to RHD over here, and im sure the people converting them will have done the job right or be prepared to fix it.

This sort of thing is typical of GM build quality though, simple plugs, wiring, and sensors failing after just four years is a bit piss poor really.
