Our C5 returns to the street

Postby Panther » Sun Feb 13, 2011 4:02 pm

Brought home my C5 last weekend after a 2 1/2 month engine build, 160k's on third gear at 7300 rpm and still pulling no valve bounce had to pull it up as it was just a tune run.
Here is part of what we done

ZO6 - 243 heads, handed them over to a racing team engine builder
eventually added patriot gold springs bit of over killl but work perfect
yellow terra lite roller rockers
new lifter & pushrod to suit
custom cam ( small grind ) to my specs by AFR
LS6 intake
ported & polished throttle body
OBX long tube headers with Aussie made high flow cats
Basani exhaust cross over
underdive pulleys and quite a few other small changes all add up to one hell of a quick C5 and more than I expected, gets final tune and dyno friday 18th I will post results.
anything that could go wrong did, with suppliers sending out from the USA either the wrong part or with parts missing in kits all this took a 3 week job to 2 1/2 months, thanks goes to Sash for the work and patience and to my wife that will never know about the $12K I just spent, what would we do with out a cunning kit.

Your right about the cunning kit Kim :o :o :o will be good to see the Dyno stat's. Did you ever do a Dyno run before the the engine build to be able to capture what the actual rear wheel gain will be?

no per dyno done, stock C5 figures vary very little and have been done heaps of times , not worth the $500 either just to compare. will post up over the weekend.
