Postby ozziedropbear » Thu Apr 07, 2016 7:48 pm

Did a search but didn't find anything, well not in a timely manner..... anyway the question is who has side pipes (4 inch hooker style) with heat shields and where did you source the heat shields from???

Couple of options on corvette mods, http://www.corvettemods.com/Exhaust_c_214.html; no experience with them, just recall seeing them there.

Thanks but yikes  $1,000 aussie delivered.

Anyone find some locally? I have been looking at truck accessories but the lengths are short or longer than needed. Guess i could get them cut shorter

z? A local exhaust shop can get some for me, 48 inches long stainless perforated for $178 each. They can cut it shorter if required.
I was tempted but after putting one up against the car, chrome or stainless won't look good on black pipes and orange car. really does not suit and the company no longer makes them in black
Anyway I am getting the shop to split a 5 inch mild steel tube and I will shape the ends and paint

You might want to try this guy , see how much his freight is, they really are worth the money for the 4 inch

A 5inch steel pipe , cut and painted, wont actually work anywhere near as good as his

They all look good but I can get local made ones for about $380 for the pair. Problem is i don't like the look of chrome/stainless over black pipes. I am really after them in black. I did find some in the U.S. but way to expensive

Something simple like these available from corvette mods. Not worth the $530 U.S. pretty sure my plan to make this will work

actually a very good idea as you can leave the polished inside to reflect the radiated heat so they will still work . :o
