South Oz catches up

Postby riverracer » Wed Dec 21, 2016 12:42 am

just received the following email....

On Sunday morning (Dec 18th) I was invited to attend a media release at Semaphore South where it was announced that SA will be getting a much improved Conditional Registration Scheme.
This will allow modified car owners to finally access the logbook scheme which so far has only been offered to hot rods and standard pre-1979 cars.

A rolling 30-year rule will also be introduced, which means a new group of vehicles will now be eligible each year.
SA’s archaic LHD rules will also be overturned (allowing modifications to them).

While the specifics are yet to be fleshed out, it is sounding very good news indeed. The new scheme is to be introduced on July 1st 2017.

The following were in attendance;

· Hon Stephen Mullighan MP (Minister for Transport & Infrastructure) & his advisor Matthew Leyson. Both are car enthusiasts!
· Glenn Stankevicius – SMASA (Street Machine Association of SA) spokesperson
· Members of the Federation of Historic Motor Vehicles
· Several classic car owners displayed their vehicles
· Channel 7
· The Advertiser
· Street Machine Magazine local journalist Carly Dale

This is a VERY exciting development for South Australia.

edit: fixed the link so it now works

Suddenly becoming stationary that's what gets you.
