Hi all, just started to research the 1958 model. I note that other than the VIN appearing on the drivers side door post it apparently appears in a number of locations on the frame. Can anyone please advise where on the frame the VIN numbers may be stamped.

| I have a number on outside of R/hand chassis rail which is visible if aluminium sill panel is removed on my 78 it is where door meets front guard. I have never compared to Vin on windscreen pillar. Not sure if it is factory or was stamped onto chassis when car was in Japan |

According to the Corvette Black book the Body / Chassis number for Corvettes 53 - early 60's can be found on a plate attached to the drivers side door post .
Sorry stupid me should have paid more attention to what you had written , you know of the drivers side door post already . The Corvette Black book doesn't help either just states that it can be found on several locations on the frame . |
