Hi all, just started to research the 1958 model. I note that other than the VIN appearing on the drivers side door post it apparently appears in a number of locations on the frame. Can anyone please advise where on the frame the VIN numbers may be stamped.

I have a number on outside of R/hand chassis rail which is visible if aluminium sill panel is removed on my 78 it is where door meets front guard. I have never compared to Vin on windscreen pillar. Not sure if it is factory or was stamped onto chassis when car was in Japan

According to the Corvette Black book the Body / Chassis number for Corvettes 53 - early 60's can be found on a plate attached to the drivers side door post .

Sorry stupid me should have paid more attention to what you had written , you know of the drivers side door post already . The Corvette Black book doesn't help either just states that it can be found on several locations on the frame .
